My rating: 5 of 5 stars
I heard about Gwenyth Reitz’s debut, You’re Dead to Me, Reed Walker, back in 2025. I’ve been very intrigued by it ever since — former rivals both murdered and forced to haunt the same house are trying to uncover the mystery of what happened to them while…possibly falling for one another.
I’ll admit, this was one of my top want-to-reads for 2026. And it didn’t disappoint! I really enjoyed the book, but I was also impressed with how Reitz balances so much — the rivalry, the attraction, the mystery, the tough transition for Tessa and Reed as ghosts, plus the family grief. I sympathized with both characters and found them to be equally engaging. Their rivalry plus the paranormal romance gave energy to each of their scenes. I was cheering them on the whole time.
This book had some fun ghost abilities and surprising twists, while also digging into what makes life meaningful. A memorable standout for me this year, I definitely recommend it!
